Old fashioned pancakes

1 and 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour.

3 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder.

One teaspoon of salt.

One tbsp of granulated sugar.

3 tablespoons of melted butter.

1 large egg.

1/4 cup of milk.

Cooking spray for greasing.

Directions:

Step 1

To start, in a mixing bowl, blend together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.

Step 2

Then in a separate bowl, vigorously whisk the melted butter, egg, and milk until the mixture is well-combined and smooth. Allow this blend to rest for 5 minutes.

Step 3

After that, preheat a skillet over medium-high heat and give it a light coating of cooking spray.

Step 4

Finally, pour 1/4 cup batter onto the hot skillet per pancake. Cook 2-3 minutes until bubbles surface and edges set. Flip and cook an extra 1 to 2 minutes until they turn golden.

Tips for Perfect Pancakes:

– Room Temperature: Use room temperature eggs and milk for smoother batter.

– Gentle Mix: Don’t overmix; a few lumps are fine for fluffier pancakes.

– Rest Time: Let batter rest for 5 mins for better texture.

– Right Heat: Preheat skillet over medium-high heat.

– Bubble Indicator: Flip when bubbles form on the surface.
