Simone Biles made an appearance at the Chicago Bears’ preseason game last Saturday so she can support her husband, Jonathan Owens. Her outfit ended up being a huge talking point at Soldier Field.
Biles, the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history, showed up to the Bears game in a jacket with Owens all over it. The overall design was very unique.
The problem for Biles is that her jacket had images of Owens in a Green Bay Packers uniform on it. He played for Chicago’s biggest rival last season, racking up 84 tackles, three pass break-ups and a forced fumble.
Bears fans had to let Biles know that her jacket was offensive to the franchise’s history. You can’t rep the Packers, regardless if it’s intentional or not.
Interestingly enough, Biles was warned about her jacket prior to kickoff. Her friend told her that it wasn’t a great idea. That moment was shared on this week’s episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks.”
